Sherry brings 19 years of Fitness experience to her clients both as an Instructor and Personal Trainer. In 2001 she became a Registered Yoga Teacher attending Stillpoint Yoga Center in Picton Ontario. Sherry’s quest for muscle balance in her own body and her clients led her to Pilates. In 2010 she attained her Pilates certification under the instruction of Margot McKinnon at Body Harmonics Pilates in Toronto. In 2011, Sherry attained her Pilates Reformer certification from Body Harmonics. Sherry is passionate about everything she does. She works with all age groups including children helping people on their journey towards better health and balance. Sherry loves living in Northern Ontario for all that it has to offer, participating in many outdoor sports.
Lisa Goddard, BA, BScOT, Certified Pilates Mat & Reformer Instructor-Owner, HWL Coach
Lisa has co-owned Balanced Motion Pilates and Yoga since 2011. Lisa practised for 18 years as an Occupational Therapist (with additional specialization in Pyschology) helping people of all ages whose mind-body connections were interrupted by injury, development or illness. With health and fitness having always been a preoccupation, Lisa discovered Pilates on her journey out of chronic back pain. Feeling first hand the strength and balanced motion that Pilates brought to her body she became a Certified Pilates Instructor in 2010, specializing in Pre and Post Natal Pilates, and a Certified Pilates Reformer Instructor at Body Harmonics Pilates in Toronto. Lisa has been a Certified Nutrition, Health and Wellness Coach since 2014. Lisa loves working with people both one on one and in class helping them find their power, achieve their goals and move with pain-free ease. With 20+ years of living in Northern Ontario she loves the outdoors, particularly our beautiful Lake Temiskaming.
Lorrie Mickelson, M.A., B.A./BPHE, Registered Yoga Teacher, Cert.Pilates Mat & Reformer Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer-Owner
Lorrie has been teaching in the fitness realm for over 25 years. She is a Registered Yoga Instructor, Certified Pilates Instructor, Integrated Movement Therapies Teacher and Personal Trainer. She received her Master of Arts (Sport Administration) and Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Queens University. Lorrie began to specialize in Yoga and Pilates when she returned to New Liskeard in 1995. She was drawn to this body of work because of its attention to detail, the ease that it brought to the body coupled with the strength....bringing a true sense of Balanced Motion. This balance was and still is particularly helpful as the mom of two active boys and as a business women. If you come out to one of Lorrie's classes or come visit her as a private client, one of the first things you will focus on is the breath. One of her mantras being "Breathe, breathe, breathe and everything else will just flow."
Trudy Rivard, Certified Yoga Teacher
Trudy is a one of a kind Yogi. Being drawn to Yoga due to a knee injury 7 years ago, she instantly developed a love and passion for the practice. Her many facets of fitness such as aqua fit and aerobics make her well rounded in body awareness, movement and how to lead and motivate a class. Under the very watchful eye of Melissa Williams, Trudy has become Hatha Yoga certified attending Ananda Yoga Studios in Aurora, this has allowed her to be a member of the Canadian Yoga Alliance. Trudy's spirit and kindness are evidently strong through her daily life and Yoga practice. Joining her in one of her classes will privilege you to this sentiment.
